Alexis & Eagle vom Lytle

NEW:  Thank You for all your help Everyone!

Scroll Down to see the updates.

Destiny donated Eagle @ 4 months to Lexi a four year old girl needing a Service Dog.  Eagle will be trained by Us at ADBT & Jennifer (Lexi's Mother). We will be taking donations for Eagle's training to become a seizure alert dog. This will give us an opportunity to go out of state and work with other service dog organizations to get the additional training for Eagle.

Alexis is a smart, funny four year old little girl who never meets a stranger. She was born with septo optic dysplasia and is legally blind. She has over come many odds that doctors didn't think possible and handles everything with a very happy attitude, in June of 09 Alexis started having seizures she has had 5 since June the last two have been when she is in bed in the early mornings. I decided to look into getting her a seizure dog to alert me in the event of a seizure in case I'm not in the same room as her. I knew it was going to be a hard processes due to the cost of service dogs( I also was hoping for a German Shepherd as protection for her when she is old enough to go outside by herself) I decided one day while I was on the computer to play around and Google German Shepherd puppies in Ak and came across Alaska Dog Boarding & Training, Inc. Right away I called and talked to Brigitte and was able to meet with her and Eagle that day! The next morning she called me and said that her daughter Destiny wanted to donate Eagle to Lexi and help train him to be a best friend and seizure dog to Lexi.  We are so grateful to the Lytle Family it takes truly amazing people to do what they did. We were told that it could take up to two years to get a service dog.

Our goal is to raise money for the gas it is going to take for Brigitte to drive from Palmer to Anchorage, training and to send us out of state to gain more education about training a Seizures Alert Dog.
Looking around in the US, a Seizures Alert service dog is priced from $20,000 to $40,000. Our Goal is to raise $10,000 for Lexi & Eagle's training. Thank You to everyone who has taken the time to read this and for all of your support and donations!!!

comment: Hello,
It's been along time since updating everyone on the progress of Eagles training.Eagle is doing great it has been a learning process for me too. I got a treadmill for him last month and he loves it he goes and sits on it and waits for me to turn it on with me even having to tell him : ) we have also been training at petco friday nights and that has made a huge difference we still have alot of work to do but we are definately making progress. The other day my friend brought his dog over to play w eagle he knows to sit and wait for lexi to crawl up the stairs (she- the other dog doesnt)so he was siting waiting and the other dog was standing infront of lexi getting ready to run down past her and eagle ran in front of the other dog and pushed her out of the way so lexi could get up on the landing!!! We are also working on the where's lexi game, when I ask him where's Lexi he has to run and find her and touch her with his nose, he is doing good with that we still have to work on it  more but so far so good sometimes I think its harder to get lexi to participate than Eagle :) the relationship between lexi and eagle gets stronger everyday!!!

comment:Hello everyone I just wanted to let you know what happened on Dec 23, the night before Christmas eve. It was about 3:30 in the morning I was laying in bed I just turned the tv off and about to fall asleep when I heard someone step on my porch at first I didnt think anything of it (my friend had borrowed my truck and has a key to my house so at first I thought it was him bringing my truck back kinda late I know but...) then I heard the door handle rattle and thats when Eagle turned in to a dog I have never seen before lol he started barking and growling and hair sticking up he kept running from in front of the door into my bedroom upstairs the whole time barking and growling he even was biting the door handle trying to get out side he didnt stop barking untill I got out of bed to check what was going on when I got up he stood infront of me wouldnt leave my side and was still growling. When I got into lexis bedroom and looked out the window I saw a man dressed in black standing behind my neighbors car I couldnt tell but it looked like he was staring right at her window I dont know if he saw me or not but he soon took off running. Eagle NEVER barks at the door . Since that day I have a new respect for him. He showed me that no matter what he wasnt going to let anything happen to his family. I shutter at the thought of what could of happened if we didnt have him, in these short 2 and a half months of having him he has done so much for lexi and I lexi is becoming more cofident in the way she talks to him and in the things she does they are so funny together they are two peas in a pod!!!!

comment: Hello everyone I just wanted to update a little since its been a while! Eagle and Lexi are doing great Lexi is learning that Eagle needs to listen to her and we are working on lexi being more cofident in telling him what to do.Eagle is listening to her very well sometimes he looks at me like do I have to?! his personality is so funny. We are also working on "close" i dont have him on a leash very often we just go outside and run and he is good about staying with us and not bothering people so when he is on a leash he doesnt like it very much and just tries to run. We met with Brigette at northway mall and she showed me how to handle him. WE practiced today around the house and Eagle did amazing!!! I am so proud of how him and Lexi are doing together it is amazing. I will be updating more often!! Thank you to everyone for reading this and for all your support!! Love Jen and Lexi

comment: Hello everyone!!! Just wanted to tell you something that happened that was truly amazing on Wednesday night eagle started acting different, he was whining (which by the way he NEVER does) and going in circles around Lexi and wouldn't leave her side she had what I believe a mild seizure she has little mild seizures that are some times hard to notice but I truly believe he picked up on it. He is such an amazing puppy and we love and enjoy him very much!!!!

WORKING VIDEO OF WENDY!

Wendy is linebred on some really old DDR blood. 4,5 -5,5 on V Ingo von Rudingen SchH3 Kkl 1

This information below was found on Pedigree Database about Ingo:

Ingo vom Rudingen was an outstanding producer of East German Border Patrol dogs and his name can be found in the pedigrees of many present day working shepherds through his progeny Held v. Ritterberg, Jeff v. Flämings-Sand, Xanto v.d. Gundorfer Höhe, Viktor v.d. Edelquelle & Robby v. Glockeneck. Ingo vastly improved pigmentation and working abilities within the German Shepherd Breed as a whole and produced many fine working shepherds

Kör: Medium-size, medium-strong male with a good head and expression. Very good top-line, harmonious and pleasing outline with good bone and muscular system. The appearance is determined by good structural proportions, firmness, pronounced pigmentation, correct stand and angulation of the limbs. While trotting he covers ground well, shows good tension and balance. His type is outstanding. Sound and balanced temperament with sufficient sharpness, hardness and courage.
